For pest control technicians

Invoicing for pest control, where the follow up is part of the price.

Almost no infestation is solved in one visit. If the invoice does not say which visits are included and which are chargeable, the second visit becomes a conversation about money instead of about the pest.

The problem

The customer thinks they bought a result, you sold a programme

A rodent or roach job is a sequence: inspect, treat, return, verify, sometimes proof. You know that. The customer heard a price and assumed it ended the problem. When you turn up for the scheduled follow up, or when they call because they saw one more, the argument is never about the pest. It is about whether this visit costs anything.

The fix is on the paperwork, not in the conversation. An invoice that says initial treatment including two follow up visits within 30 days removes the entire dispute in one line, before it happens.

Why it matters

Recording the product is not admin, it is your defence

Pest control is one of the few trades where what you applied, where you applied it and at what rate can matter legally, not just commercially. If a household has a reaction, a pet gets sick, or a landlord asks what was used near a nursery, the answer needs to exist in writing and be findable months later.

Putting the product name and the treated areas on the invoice takes seconds and turns a bill into a record. It also raises perceived value: a customer who reads bait stations installed in roof void, sub floor and rear boundary understands what they bought far better than one who reads pest treatment.

What you get

What a pest control business needs from an invoice

Invoice Local is written for a technician standing at a van door, not for an office that will type it up later.

Initial plus follow upsState on the line what the price includes, so return visits never turn into a payment argument.
Product on the recordWhat was applied and where, which is both a legal record and a reason the price makes sense.
Treated areas listedRoof void, sub floor, boundary, kitchen. Specific beats the word treatment every time.
Recurring plansQuarterly and monthly programmes invoiced per visit, duplicated in seconds each cycle.
Call out minimumSaved once and applied with a tap, visible instead of folded into the treatment price.
Proofing as its own jobExclusion work priced separately from treatment, because it is a different sale.
Works with no signalCrawl spaces, lofts and rural sites. The invoice is built on the device regardless.
Commercial accountsRestaurants and landlords saved with a site reference on every visit document.
Outstanding at a glanceMany small invoices hide late payers. One screen shows who is behind.
Covered work

The work a pest control invoice covers

Domestic call outs, commercial contracts and one off jobs all use the same builder, so a new pest never means a new system.

Rodent treatmentsInitial, baiting, follow ups and proofing, with each stage priced and named.
Cockroach and antGel and residual applications with the areas treated listed for the record.
Wasp and hornetSingle visit removal with access noted where a ladder or height drove the price.
Bed bugsMulti visit protocols where the invoice must state exactly how many visits are included.
Fleas and mitesTreatment plus preparation instructions, with any repeat visit chargeable and stated.
Bird proofingNetting and spikes by linear measure, plus access, priced apart from any clean up.
Termite and timberInspection with a written outcome, invoiced immediately while the buyer is still deciding.
Commercial contractsScheduled visits invoiced monthly or per visit with consistent wording each time.
Exclusion and proofingSealing entry points, quoted and invoiced as construction style work rather than treatment.

Questions

Questions pest control businesses ask

What does it cost?

Unlimited invoices and quotes are free forever, including saved customers, saved line items and sending by WhatsApp or email. Pro is $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year and adds five more designs and removes the small watermark.

Can it produce a treatment report as well as an invoice?

Not as a separate report document. What you can do is put the product, the areas treated and the number of included visits on the invoice itself, which for most domestic work is enough. If you are contractually required to issue formal treatment reports, keep doing that in whatever system your accreditation requires.

How do I invoice a quarterly contract?

Invoice each visit as it happens and duplicate the previous one, which takes seconds and keeps the wording identical. There is no automatic recurring billing, so nothing fires on a schedule without you. For a round of contracts that is a few minutes a month rather than a rewrite.

Should follow up visits be free or charged?

Whichever you decide, but say it on the invoice. The trade dispute is almost never about the amount, it is about a customer who believed the first payment covered everything. One clause on the first line removes it.

Does it work in a loft or crawl space with no signal?

Yes. Invoices are created and stored on the phone, so reception only matters when you press send. Anything created offline syncs later if you have signed in for backup.

Do I need an account to start?

No. Install it, add your business name, and the first invoice can go out immediately. An account is optional and only adds cloud backup and sync across devices.

Which devices does it run on?

Android phones and tablets through Google Play, and any modern browser at app.invoicelocal.com. There is no iPhone app yet, so on an iPhone you use the browser version, which builds and sends the same PDF from the same account.
